Rhabdobobbo!

... Because "Surviving Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma" has way too many syllables for a website name. :)

A Blog Site to offer perspective and inspiration to those who are faced with this disease.

Where's Bobbo?

Ok, Ok.. I promised a post in March and I blew it... I've worked at it now- on and off again through April and it still ain't ready.   It's up to 4 pages and I'm only 2/3 of the way there.

So i figured I'd post an apology on the delay and explain what's kept me away from this site for too long.

Without getting into too much detail, it's been a bumpy ride since June 2012.   I've had 3 hospitalizations and 3 months of physical therapy.  I've changed jobs at work- busy with some exciting project management work on a HUGE clinical systems project.  I've had one of my medical devices upgraded (I won't say what medical device because that will spoil the story in the blog...:) )

My oldest Cat- Ellie... died in August 2012 which was  tough loss for me since I had her for 15 years.   She was a great cat & mentored Arista very well.

I then adopted Kiki from the same shelter that I got Arista from.

Kiki was about 4 months old when I got her and had lived in a semi-feral environment.  She was terrorfied of people and me.   It took her about a month to get used to me but she eventually came out of her shell to be in my lap as she is in the above picture.

Her and Arista had a rough start but they are now best buddies- always playing, chasing & romping around at odd hours of the night.   This also entails running at top speed up and down the stairs.

Kiki is quite vocal & has a habit of waking me up once or twice a night just to tell me that she's happy and that she love me- purring loudly and flexing her paws (with claws) against my cheek).

So all things considered- things are going well.   Spring is in full swing & yes, I will get this next blog entry finished dang it!  It's about a huge turning point for me & my recovery in the summer of 1988.
